Santa Eulària des Riu welcomes thousands of runners with the opening of the Runner’s Expo of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon

With the opening of the Runner’s Expo at the Ibiza Conference Centre, Santa Eulària des Riu becomes from today the epicenter of running on the island. The atmosphere can already be felt in every corner of the municipality, which this weekend hosts a new edition of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, a well-established event on the national and international calendar that will bring together more than 6,000 runners from over 40 countries.

The expo, open to the public on Friday from 10:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00, is the first meeting point between participants and the organization. There, runners will be able to collect their race bib, the official event T-shirt and the runner’s bag, which includes various gifts offered by the sponsors. In addition, the expo area features stands from sports brands, as well as a parallel programme that marks the start of the big running weekend in Ibiza.

The race, which will take place this Saturday, 12 April, offers three distances that cover some of the island’s most iconic landscapes: the marathon, starting from the port of Ibiza; the 22K race from the heart of the island, Santa Gertrudis; and the 12K, which runs through the Es Canar area. Three distances that offer options for all levels and an unforgettable sporting experience with a common finish line by the sea on the Santa Eulària promenade.

This edition brings together runners from a remarkably diverse range of places, with a strong international presence accounting for 70% and a notable female participation, which in this eighth edition is close to 50% of participants. The event not only attracts athletes and enthusiasts, but also hundreds of companions who find in Ibiza an ideal destination to combine sport, nature and leisure. Beyond the strictly sporting side, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has become a true active tourism experience. Under the slogan #RunAndFeel, the organization has designed a complete weekend that includes an activation with Olympic runner Dani Mateo; the Santa Eulària Ibiza KidsRun Caixabank; and a closing party at Las Dalias and Teatro Pereyra.

With an operation involving more than 700 people including staff, law enforcement, medical personnel and volunteers, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is preparing once again to offer an unforgettable day to those who have chosen Ibiza to experience the magic of running by the sea.
